Moroccan cuisine has been voted the « best cuisine in the world » with a score of 60% following a survey launched by renowned British chef Gordon Ramsay in collaboration with the Instagram page Pubity.
In a video posted on social media, Gordon Ramsay announced the victory of Moroccan cuisine in the contest organized by Pubity, which has 38 million followers. Around 2.5 million people voted, and Moroccan dishes were preferred over those of Mexico, which scored 40%.
Ramsay also revealed that Rfissa is one of his favorite dishes, which he had the opportunity to cook with Amazigh people in the Atlas Mountains.
Ramsay was introduced to Moroccan cuisine during a visit to the Kingdom in 2019. In his documentary « Uncharted, » aired on National Geographic, the chef discovered traditional Amazigh cuisine.
The 52-year-old Michelin-starred British chef visited Morocco to taste and discover the secrets of Moroccan gastronomy. He started in Fes, where he explored street food in the medina, meeting a local chef to experience the flavors of rancid butter and spicy olives, and then headed to the mountains.
In videos posted on YouTube showing scenes from his adventures in Morocco, Gordon Ramsay is seen cooking outdoors, preparing a wild mushroom omelet seasoned with Ras El Hanout.
