While in advanced discussions with the Saudi club Al-Wahda, German coach Josef Zinnbauer, who achieved a double with Raja Casablanca this season, remains ambiguous about his announced departure.
Negotiations with Al-Wahda reportedly stalled over the contract duration, with the Saudis offering a one-year renewable deal while Zinnbauer wanted two years. On Saturday, he reminded everyone on Instagram that he is « still » the coach of the Greens.
« In recent days, I’ve read a lot about what I should do or what I will do. Some were funny, others not so much. From the bottom of my heart, I want to tell you: nothing is decided yet about where my journey will take me next! » he stated.
To clarify, he added: « I still have a contract with Raja Casablanca, and this season has been our greatest achievement together – and we did it! »
Zinnbauer also addressed the arrest of Mohamed Boudrika, now the former president of Raja following the appointment of Adel Hala on Friday night: « I am really sorry for our president, who was detained by the authorities while trying to visit me. I am doing everything within my legal power to help him. He, like you and me, is part of the success of the biggest undefeated championship in Morocco, something unprecedented and perhaps never to be repeated. »
The German coach also affirmed that no matter what happens, « the heart of Raja always beats green and will overcome all challenges. »
