Al-Shabab has secured an agreement to sign Abderrazak Hamdallah from Al-Ittihad during the current summer transfer window, thus outmaneuvering Al-Taawoun, who was on the verge of signing the Moroccan striker but failed due to financial disagreements in the final stages of negotiations.

According to the Saudi newspaper « Arriyadiyah, » Hamdallah is close to joining Al-Shabab, marking his third experience in the Saudi Pro League after playing for Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad.

The same source indicated that the Moroccan striker is still reviewing some financial terms before finalizing the deal this week, after both parties agreed on the contract’s financial details.

Additionally, Al-Shabab’s management has received approval from the financial sustainability committee to sign Hamdallah, who is one of the best strikers in the history of the Saudi Pro League.

Hamdallah contributed to Al-Ittihad’s victory in the Saudi Pro League by scoring several decisive goals during the 2023-2024 season. The native of Safi aspires to become the top scorer in the history of the Saudi Pro League and thus prefers to stay in the Saudi league rather than move abroad.

The former Botola player currently holds the second place among the top scorers in the league’s history with 127 goals, behind Syrian Omar Al-Somah, former Al-Ahli striker and all-time top scorer with 144 goals in 180 matches in the competition.

Hamdallah’s contract with Al-Ittihad runs until the summer of 2025, and the club’s management has decided to let him go to keep the Frenchman Karim Benzema, despite Hamdallah’s strong performances last season, unlike the former Real Madrid striker who has shown modest results.
