The city of Khénifra hosted the first edition of the national exhibition of stamps, coins, and antiques this weekend, organized by the Atlas Association for the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage.
Held on the occasion of the Throne Day celebration under the slogan « The postage stamp and the currency, symbols of sovereignty and national unity and embodiment of tangible and intangible heritage, » this event aims to showcase rare gems of Moroccan philately and highlight the Kingdom’s ancient cultural and civilizational heritage.
The goal of this exhibition is to promote the appreciation and preservation of Moroccan postage stamp heritage and to foster the exchange of experiences between philatelists and numismatists by showcasing a rare and precious collection of Moroccan stamps and coins that reflect the various stages of the Kingdom’s rich history and its ancient culture.
Exhibitors presented a selection of stamps, postcards, coins, rare antiques, and special photographs highlighting major socio-economic projects launched in different regions of the Kingdom.
Rachid Riah, president of the Atlas Association for the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage, stated that this exhibition aims to highlight the richness of Moroccan postage stamp heritage and the diversity of numismatics represented by coins reflecting national identity and values of unity and sovereignty.
During the workshops organized on the sidelines of this exhibition, the organizers emphasized the richness of the history of stamps and coins as well as their evolution through the ages, stressing the importance of valuing these specialties in the province of Khénifra.
Initiated in partnership with the Poste Maroc Group and in coordination with the commune of Khénifra and other philatelic associations, this first edition was marked by the participation of enthusiasts and specialists in the collection of stamps, coins, and collectible photographs.
