Government Council Approves Draft Law to Establish the National Agency for Water and Forests

The Government Council, in its meeting held this Thursday, approved Draft Law No. 20.25 concerning the creation of the National Agency for Water and Forests, presented by Ahmed El Bouari, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests.

This draft law aims to ratify Decree-Law No. 2.25.302, issued on 5 Shawwal 1446 (April 4, 2025), which amends and supplements Law No. 52.20 regarding the establishment of the agency.

In a press briefing following the meeting, Mustapha Baitas, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson, stated that this legislative step is part of the constitutional procedure provided for in Article 81.

Baitas also clarified that the decree-law was enacted after approval by the relevant committees of both the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, and it was published in Official Bulletin No. 7393 on April 7, 2025.
