Government Council to Meet Thursday to Review Press Laws and Microfinance Limits

Morocco’s Government Council, chaired by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, will convene this Thursday to review a set of legislative and regulatory texts.

The agenda includes two draft laws: one to restructure the National Press Council, and another to revise the legal framework for professional journalists.

The council will also examine a draft decree setting the maximum ceiling for microloans and the limits on funds disbursed by microfinance institutions.

Additionally, members will study the Host Country Agreement signed with the African Union Development Agency (NEPAD) for the establishment of its national office in Morocco, along with the draft approval law.

The meeting will close with the appointment of senior officials, in accordance with Article 92 of the Moroccan Constitution.
